986 known new COVID-19 cases and 42 more deaths
Known cases of the new coronavirus in Illinois jumped by 986 including 42 more deaths, the state Department of Public Health said Wednesday. That brings the total known statewide case count to 6,980 and the number of deaths to 141 since the outbreak began.
Kankakee County Public Health officials upped their list of confirmed cases to at least 57. Included was a child and an adult male in his teens. There is also a young man in his 20's and three women -- one in her 30's, one in her 40's and the third in her 50's. Livingston County numbers reached five Tuesday.
