60-year-old Omar Smith of Hoopeston was arrested near the 400 block of W. Elm Street around 2:15 am (Monday). Smith faces 3-counts: aggravated assault with a motor vehicle, domestic battery/ bodily harm, and domestic battery/ physical contact.

Hoopeston Police report Smith allegedly operated a vehicle in a reckless manner, placing a person in a “reasonable apprehension of being struck by a moving motor vehicle.” Smith was transferred to Danville’s Public Safety Building to face arraignment.
