A traffic stop on I-55 near Pontiac Thursday morning results in the arrest of a woman found with 38 pounds of marijuana. Illinois State Police report 45-year-old Anita Williams of Peoria was jailed in Livingston County. During a traffic stop for a moving violation, an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle prompted a search after Williams was arrested on an outstanding warrant. A subsequent search of the vehicle by troopers resulted in the seizure of approximately 38 pounds of cannabis.

Williams was charged with manufacturing and delivering more than 5,000 grams of cannabis, a class X felony and unlawful possession of more than 5,000 grams of cannabis, a class one felony. She could be looking at a 30-year prison term.
