State EPA cites water supplier in University Park for alleged violations

Aqua Illinois is in trouble with a state oversite agency. The Illinois EPA recently cited the water supplier for several alleged violations in connection to ongoing lead water contamination woes in south suburban University Park. The findings include Aqua failed to properly categorize lead and copper sampling sites and failing to maintain a safe public water supply. Company officials claim they are working with the IEPA to work out the issue.

Meanwhile, the company has suspended four members of their management and professional team in response to IEPA's findings.
