The weather forecast for Wednesday has some people on edge again; two rounds will bring high winds, hail and maybe tornadoes.
Officials say don’t wait to prepare. Put your plan in place.
The National Weather Service says to expect one round of storms with hail and damaging winds from between 6 am to 1 pm, then second round from around 3 pm to 9 pm -- both could produce more destructive winds and tornadoes.
The highest risk for strong tornadoes is generally south of Interstate 80, the stretch from the Kankakee River east into Indiana. Watches and Warnings had already people on alert Tuesday afternoon in Champaign, Vermilion, Douglas and Edgar Counties and into Benton County, IN.
Weather officials urge citizens to stay weather-aware. Conditions and time frames could change ahead of Wednesday.
