Bourbonnais 11-year-old dies of accident injuries

One of two 11-year-old Bourbonnais boys injured in a crash on Illinois Route 1 in Kankakee County last week has died of his injuries. Tanner Carlos Torres died Thursday, according to info from the Illinois State Police. The boy was one of two passengers in the back-seat of a car rear-ended on the highway at 4000N Road. The collision happened last Thursday 8/8 night. Tanner died at Comer Children’s Hospital in Chicago. Another 11-year-old was also seriously injured.

The boys were riding in a car that was hit from behind waiting to make a turn. The driver of the car that hit the victim’s car, 19-year-old Kassidy Mucho of Momence, was taken to Amita Health St. Mary’s Hospital with minor injuries. She was ticketed by Illinois State Police for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
