Monday began damage assessments from recent heavy flooding in affected Illinois counties and Gov. J.B. Pritzker has requested an extension for the state to file a federal disaster declaration request. Pritzker’s office said there are areas of the state that remain inaccessible in requested a 30-day extension to submit the necessary documentation supporting a request for a federal disaster declaration.
