Today's (Tuesday 3/17) Primary Election in Iroquois County features two referendums and three contested races for County Board. The polls are open 6 am until 7 pm.
The Illinois State Board of Elections encourages voters to report instances of misinformation about the voting process, including election-related ads about incorrect polling place hours, incorrect requirements to vote or information about casting a vote online or via text, which is not allowed. Local election officials will also monitor the process.
The Iroquois County Ballot has referenda questions… Crescent-Iroquois Fire Protection District asks voters to OK a Bond Ref question for a much-needed fire truck.
The Village of Buckley looks to voters again…asking for a YES vote to pay for a Village Sanitary Sewer Treatment Plant.
District 1 County Board candidates include Paul Ducat, John Meents and Nancy Owens. Two will be elected.
District 2 candidates are Kathleen Perkinson, Steve Huse and Chris Peipher, two willl be seated.
District 4 finds three candidates after two seats, Marion Jaworski, Mitchell Bence and Kevin Bohlmann.
