- The Milwaukee Brewers are promoting former KCC pitcher Peyton Niksch to the Biloxi Shuckers (AA).

- Litchfield, IL High School has cancelled their varsity football season this year due to a low number of upperclassman and will play JV only.

- Five-star guard NaVorro Bowman Jr., the No. 10 overall prospect in the class of 2027, has locked in official visits to UConn, Illinois, Texas and Arizona, source tells 247Sports

- The Dec. 21 game between Duke and Michigan is OFF, sources told ESPN. Originally scheduled for MSG, then attempted to move to the Miami Marlins’ stadium, but all parties couldn’t come to a final agreement. Duke now slated to face Texas Tech at MSG on Dec. 21, per sources.

- LeBron James is signing with the Philadelphia 76ers on a two-year, $8 million deal with a player option, Klutch Sports Group and Klutch CEO and Game Over show host Rich Paul tells ESPN.

- The cover athletes for NBA 2K27 were revealed Wednesday, with Victor Wembanyama, Caitlin Clark and Derrick Rose getting the nod as this year's featured stars.

- Super Bowl LXII in Atlanta will conclude the 2027 season on February 13, 2028.

- Former Illini and current Seahawk, Devon Witherspoon, might soon become the highest-paid cornerback in the NFL as the two sides work towards a new contract.

- Winger Patrick Kane is returning to the Chicago Blackhawks on a two-year $8 million AAV contract.

- NASCAR Trucks and INDYCAR will pair again at St Pete in 2027 with March 5-7 as the dates. Truck race March 6, INDYCAR race March 7.

- Fox Sports reports Alex Bowman will drive the No. 48 car for Hendrick Motorsports in 2027 and then retire from full-time racing competition. Bowman and HMS announced his one-year contract extension Thursday night as well as the plan for him to conclude his full-time career after the season.

- Dreyer & Reinbold Racing (DRR) announced that the team has purchased one NTT INDYCAR SERIES charter from Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing (RLL).

The transaction is subject to INDYCAR approval. With the possession of a charter, DRR will return full time to NTT INDYCAR SERIES competition beginning in 2027 with a one-car entry.

DRR’s return to full-time competition comes shortly after the passing of the team’s founder and owner, Dennis Reinbold, who died June 13 at 65. The last season of full time INDYCAR competition for DRR was in 2012 but they have participated as a part time team for the Indy 500 over the years since including two cars at this year’s race.

The sale marks the first official transfer of an IndyCar charter since the system was introduced in 2024. RLL is planning to scale back to a two-car program in 2027 thus opening up one of their charters for sale.

DRR will announce the full program details at a later date, including driver and partners for the 2027 NTT INDYCAR SERIES season.
