A 53-year-old Onarga died Monday in a workplace accident at the Incobrasa soybean processing facility in Gilman.
Adrian Munoz was pronounced dead at the scene after apparently falling from on top of a railroad car, according to Iroquois County Coroner Bill Cheatum. Munoz was on top of the rail car in an enclosed area loading soy product, when he fell. The accident happened about 7:30 in the morning. Other workers were present, but didn’t see the accident happen. When Munoz didn’t respond to a call from other workers, they discovered he had fallen.
Cheatum said an autopsy is scheduled.
Iroquois County Sheriff’s Police and Riverside Ambulance responded to the scene.
Munoz was a veteran employee at the Incobrasa facility. There’s been no word from the company about the accident.
