Braun issues statewide order after weather impacts state
Indiana Governor Mike Braun says the recent severe weather impacted the state. According to the order, posted on Braun’s social media, officials stated that the widespread severe weather caused “severe damage across Indiana.” The damage includes the destruction of homes, businesses, infrastructure and other structures. Loss of power due to downed trees and power lines, flooding and damages roads are included. A loss of life and injuries were also reported. The declaration 'mobilizes state agencies, frees up resources, and supports local response and recovery efforts' for 30 days.
- The order states that the Indiana Department of Homeland Security will enlist the support of additional state agencies to help provide necessary emergency services to impacted counties.
