State Senator Patrick Joyce has advanced legislation aimed at speeding up safety improvements at hazardous intersections on state roads in Will County.  Senate Bill 3275 would require the Illinois Department of Transportation, working with local agencies, to identify and review the 10 most dangerous state-controlled intersections south of Interstate 80.
The measure seeks to address delays local governments face when requesting state safety reviews. The bill would mandate a formal assessment and report to the Illinois General Assembly, prioritizing potential fixes such as design changes, traffic control adjustments and other safety measures.
