Kankakee County Judge Kathy Bradshaw-Elliott is publicly criticizing St. Anne High School, saying school officials created a "dangerous situation" by letting an 18-year-old student allegedly armed with a gun leave school before police were called.
The student, identified as Elijah Robinson, was serving a one-week suspension when he arrived at school. He allegedly displayed a handgun saying he planned to kill the dean of students.
Robinson reportedly was allowed to leave the school, then returned with his mother to turn himself in to the authorities. He's been charged with disorderly conduct and may face weapons charges.
Judge Elliott questioned why school officials waited 45 minutes before calling police ?
