Damage was pegged at an estimated $50 - $70,000 in a Beaverville fire that destroyed a two-story house Wednesday.
Ten area fire departments were on the scene at 508 St. Charles Street. Beaverville Fire Chief Jason Brammer reported finding flames coming from two upstairs windows when firemen arrived just past 10:40 am. No one was home. No injury to report even though hypothermia may have affected some firemen during the day-long battle. The fire's cause was ruled 'undetermined.'
Mutual aid was provided by Papineau, St. Anne, Martinton, Momence, Donovan, Concord, Aroma Park, Ashkum, Otto Township and Pembroke.
