Pigeon Grove Township Road Commissioner Dan Bauer of Cissna Park is free on bond having been arrested for Official Misconduct. The 54-year-old Bauer is accused of using the township's tax exempt status for personal gain.

He was arrested Friday by county sheriff's police.

Police report the investigation revealed Bauer purchased a lawn tractor in 2011, using personal funds while using Pigeon Grove Township's tax-exempt number. During the investigation, police said a search warrant executed at Bauer's Cissna Park family farm operation, the lawn tractor in question was located on the property.

Bauer surrendered himself to the county jail Friday.
