Tornado sirens were being tested Thursday as part of Severe Weather Preparedness Week. Schools are making sure students are prepared as well.

Some school districts, especially elementary buildings, practiced a tornado drill Thursday morning. Students and teachers were able to complete the drill in under four minutes.

Building principals say because of the recent tornadoes, students understand the importance of the drill.

School and business officials are required to review the drill procedures every year. Governmental offices are also encouraged to practice their drills.
