Edgar Vazquez pleaded guilty to animal cruelty and was sentenced to one year. The judge in Newton Superior Court then suspended that one-year in favor of probation.
Vazquez was the employee arrested in the months-long animal abuse investigation at the well-known Newton County farm. Two other employees were charged, but never taken into custody. It was an undercover video by an activist group (ARM) that showed calves being thrown and kept in hot pens at Fair Oaks Farm. The owners say they were not aware of any abuse before the video was released. Animal Recovery Mission (ARM) Investigations claim they had someone working at the farm undercover for three months documenting what they observed.
