There’s marked improvement on area waterways from flood waters that’ve plagued many people of late. The NWS observers report water levels have dropped . The Kankakee River, Sugar Creek and the Vermilion River show dropping levels after recent readings.

The Kankakee River at Wlmington measured 4’5” last (Mon) evening. Levels are down at Momence and on Sugar Creek at Milford.  The Iroquois River is still high, but is expected to fall later today (Tues). {19.6 feet…foot and a-half above flood stage}.

At Shelby, IN….still up. Expected to crest for a second-time soon.
