'Not Guilty' Verdicts in Alvin Shooting

A Vermilion County Circuit Court jury recently returned not guilty verdicts in a trial involving a 2011 shooting in Alvin. Forty-two year-old Jason Irwin was found innocent of attempted murder and home invasion.

According to testimony Michael Reffett Junior discovered Irwin in his Alvin home and shots were exchanged between the men. Reffett suffered several gunshot wounds. Irwin was reportedly hit with a shotgun blast. Both men survived their wounds.

The not guilty verdicts ended a three-day trial.
