A passenger in a vehicle is dead after a crash in Newton County, Indiana Sunday night. Indiana State Police report a single vehicle crash on County Road 400 West near Morocco. A pick-up truck left the roadway and hit a utility pole. Thomas Richardson of Morocco was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the truck, Andrew Kepchar of Crown Point, is jailed on a felony charge of Operating While Intosicated Causing Death.

State Police said the northbound truck left the road before hitting the pole. The truck then rolled and caught fire. Power lines were knocked down at the scene, hindering first responders.

The crash is still under investigation.
