Brookfield couple injured in I-57 crash

A distracted driver rolled her vehicle Wednesday on I-57, shutting down the interstate for hour. Illinois State Police cited Ashley Staley of Brookfield (IL) for improper lane usage and failure to wear a seatbelt.

A passenger in the car, Matthew Staley, was ejected from the car. Both were taken by ambulance to Riverside Hospital. Police reported the injuries were not serious.

The car was northbound in Kankakee County just after 5 pm. The driver said she became distracted, over-corrected, then ran into the median where the car rolled once than flipped end-over-end.
