American Legion Hosts Run for the Wall motorcycle riders
On Tuesday, May 27th, the Watseka American Legion – Post 23 will host the Run for the Wall – Sandbox Route motorcycle riders for lunch and ceremony. The Sandbox Route is from Washington DC to Marseilles, IL and will terminate at the Middle East Conflicts Wall in Marseilles. There are an estimated 360 motorcycle riders expected to be in Watseka this year and they are expected to arrive in Watseka around 10:00 a.m. for refueling at Casey’s General Store. They will then ride down South 4th Street to Legion Park and will assemble at Legion Hall at 11:00 a.m. Watseka American Legion will provide a lunch to the riders prior to their embarking on the final leg of their journey.
The public is invited to line the streets of South 4th Street to welcome these patriotic riders as they complete a ride that started in Ontario, CA, went to Washington, DC for ceremonies, and then stopping in Watseka as their last stop prior to arriving at their final destination: Middle East Conflicts Wall in Marseilles, IL.
