The Village of Bourbonnais is adding Mike Van Mill to its payroll as the village's new Administrator. Van Mill had headed up the Kankakee County Economic Alliance since 2008. He was also the Kankakee County Planner for over 20 years.
Van Mill makes the move during troubled financial times for the county. The new job offers some stability in that, county government is looking at borrowing money to deal with declining revenues.
The Bourbonnais village administrator job pays $108,000. Van Mill is one of 60 village employees. He begins the new job December 7th.
Van Mill succeeds Greg Spathis who resigned over conflict of interest issues after it was learned that his private business in Manteno was selling ammunition to the Bourbonnais police department. Spathis is now the village administrator in Peotone.
