The Milford Fire Protection District and the Eastern Illinois Mutual Aid Fire Association is posting notice of the loss of one their own. 53-year-old James "Cookie" Cook died in a car-train accident Tuesday, November 17, 20015 in Iroquois County.
'Cookie" served as a Captain with the Milford Fire Department. He's a former Mayor of Milford and was an active volunteer in the community. He was a local businessman and often volunteered his services.
Survivors include his wife, Dorrie, daughter Zoe, and sons Zakary and Max.
Area fire personnel, including members of the Eastern Illinois Mutual Aid Fire Association (MABAS 37) are welcome for a fire department walk-through at 6:30 pm Friday at the Milford Christian Church. Visitation is 4 – 8 pm.
Saturday's funeral at 11 am at the Milford Christian Church will also include a procession of fire equipment, lining up east of the church on Hickory Street.
