A 26-year-old Urbana man, delivery mail, died in a single-vehicle crash Friday morning in Iroquois County. Blake Fitton died at Iroquois Memorial Hospital.

Milford Fire & Ambulance was alerted after a passerby discovered the crash at 4:30 am, along County road 1000 N – west of Milford. Sheriff's Police were investigating.

Coroner Bill Cheatum said a power outage had affected the area about an hour earlier. Emergency personnel reported the truck hit a power pole at 1700 E Road.

The victim was eastbound on 1000 N delivering mail in a government box truck from the Urbana Distribution Center when he apparently lost control. It was raining at the time of the accident.

An autopsy is scheduled.
