Light rain is changing over to snow this (Wednesday) morning, creating the potential for slow, sloppy roads. Motorists should be prepared for a slower commute. Kankakee, Will counties and northwest Indiana are reporting a little more snow accumulation.
The National Weather Service issued a special weather statement for Will and Coo counties and Lake, Porter, Newton, Jasper counties in Indiana.
Reduced visibility and light, slushy accumulations on roads are possible.
Intermittent snow showers are expected throughout the remainder of the day.
Forecasters said an inch of snow is expected on grassy surfaces with up to 2 inches possible.
Temperatures are expected back in the 50s this weekend.
