The process for a presidential election year begins Monday (November 23) as political hopefuls begin the candidate filing period for the March 2016 Primary.

The filing period runs for a week ...November 23 thru Monday, November 30th. That's to get your name on the March Primary ballot.

{NOTE: The County Clerk's Office will be closed Thursday and Friday, November 26 and 27 for the Thanksgiving holiday}

Iroquois County offices up for election in 2016 include State's Attorney, Circuit Clerk and Coroner. County Board seats are also up for election in all four districts. Precinct committeemen seats are also up.

In Vermilion County.... the County Clerk's Office will be accepting petitions for County Auditor, Circuit Clerk, Recorder, State's Attorney, Coroner, County Board Members, and Precinct Committeemen.

The deadline to file candidacy petitions is Monday, November 30th at 5:00 pm.
