Iroquois County Associate Judge James Kinzer has announced he's a candidate for the Iroquois County Resident 'Circuit Judge' office, to fill the vacancy of Judge Gordon Lustfeldt's seat.
Lustfeldt announced (Monday) he will retire April 30, 2016.
Kinzer has served as an Associate Judge in Iroquois County since 2005. Prior to that, he was a private attorney in Watseka since 1978.
Kinzer said "I feel my 10 years' experience as an Associate Judge has thoroughly prepared me for the position of Circuit Judge." He looks forward to serving the people of Iroquois County as their resident Circuit Judge.
Kinzer is a 1978 graduate of the University of Illinois College of Law. He and his wife live in Watseka. They're the parents of two adult sons.
