Judge Gordon Lustfeldt announces retirement

Iroquois County Circuit Judge Gordon Lustfeldt has announced his retirement, effective April 30, 2016.

Lustfeldt has been the resident Circuit Judge of Iroquois County since October, 1995 when he filled the vacancy created by the retirement of then-Circuit Judge Robert Dannehl.

Lustfeldt previously served as Iroquois County State's Attorney from 1988 – 1995. He was Iroquois County Public Defender from 1982 – 1988. He was an attorney in private practice from 1980 – 1988.

On his pending retirement, Lustfeldt said, "retirement was not an easy decision to make; I enjoy my job and the support of people I work with, and will always be grateful for the opportunity to serve the people of Iroquois County. However, he said, 'I want to spend more time with my family and it is time to give someone else a chance to serve."

Lustfeldt's replacement will be chosen in the November 2016 general election.
