Mediacom internet service interrupted Tuesday

Iroquois County residents in the Watseka, Woodland areas should have their internet service back up and running after a fiber optic cable was cut Tuesday, taking out service.

The service was interrupted about 1:30 yesterday afternoon when a line was severed in Indiana. Several Indiana towns, extending over toward Crown Point, were also without internet service.

A Mediacom representative said the service was to be repaired and back online by late last night.

Several citizens, businesses and school districts reported they were without service during the afternoon and evening hours.
