Residents from around the Kankakee area attended a home heating and energy efficiency seminar hosted by state Rep. Kate Cloonen, Nicor Gas and Kankakee County Community Services, Inc. (KCCSI).

"With energy costs rising as temperatures drop, winter can be hard for any family. Nicor can help their customers navigate these financial challenges both by providing assistance resources and in helping residents better weatherize their homes," said Cloonen. "I thank Nicor and KCCSI for partnering with my office to connect residents to these resources and help them prepare for the winter cold."

Attendees received free materials, information and resources to weatherize their homes and receive assistance on their energy bills. Residents unable to attend may find information on home heating and weatherization resources at www.nicorgas.com/residential/energy-assistance or www.kccsi-cap.org.
