Kinzinger, Kelly seeking another term in U.S. Congress

U.S. Rep. Adam Kinzinger, R-Channahon, announced last week that he has filed his primary petitions with nearly double the signatures required to run for re-election in the 16th Congressional District of Illinois.
Congressman-woman Robin Kelly, D-Matteson. Is also seeking re-election to the 2nd Illinois District. Kelly has three other Democratic opponents in the Primary election in March.

Kinzinger is also challenged by a Rockford candidate.
"I have been honored to serve the constituents of the Illinois 16th District, and am pleased to announce I am seeking re-election," said Kinzinger. "I'd like to thank all of the supporters from across the district who have signed and circulated my petitions for re-election (and) agree it is time to renew America.

Kinzinger was first elected to Congress in 2010 and serves on the Energy and Commerce Committee, where he has worked to revitalize American manufacturing. He also served on the Foreign Affairs Committee in the 113th Congress and continues to be a leader on international and defense issues.

Kinzinger is a U.S. Air Force veteran of Iraq and Afghanistan and serves as a pilot in the Air National Guard.
