Nearly a dozen fire departments assisted the Pembroke Fire Protection District Friday in battling wind-blown flames that destroyed a home. Firemen were at the scene for over four hours. No injuries were reported.
Pembroke firemen answered the call just before 10 am to 2385 S and 15620 E Road in Pembroke Township.
The owner of the home escaped without injury. The American Red Cross was notified to help a displaced woman.
Mutual aid included fire personnel from St. Anne, Aroma Park, Momence, Kankakee Township, Beaverville, Papineau, Martinton, Donovan, and Newton County, IN.
