Kankakee Police Sergeants get new contract

There's a new four-year agreement in place for Sergeants in the Kankakee police department. The City Council (Monday) approved a contract.

Mayor Nina Epstein is pleased with the four-year deal, saying it leaves some breathing room between for the next round of negotiations.

The new contracts gives the Sergeants raises of one-percent this year, 1 and a quarter percent in 2016, and then 2% the next two years after that.
