The Newton County Sheriff’s Office investigated a two vehicle crash at the intersection of County Road 950 North and County Road 600 West Saturday.

18-yr-old Samuel Wilson of Demotte Indiana, was south bound on County Road 600 West. 064-yr-old Michael Johnson of Schneider, Indiana, was west bound in a pickup truck on County Road 950 North. Police reported Wilson failed to stop at the stop sign striking Johnson’s vehicle causing both vehicles to overturn. Johnson had to be extricated from the vehicle by the Lake Township Fire Department. Johnson was transported to Riverside Hospital for treatment by Newton County Ambulance Personal. Wilson was cited at the scene for Disregarding a Stop Sign.
