Two-vehicle crash Wednesday on Route 45 in Ford County resulted in charges against a 22-year-old Rankin woman. Heather Claeys was cited by Illinois State Police for failing to yield, failure to secure two children in child restraints and driving with no insurance.
Police report Claeys stopped at the intersection of Route 45 and County Road 500N. She then crossed Route 45 in a pickup truck and was hit by the southbound car driven by 80-yr-old Gordon Seggebruch of Onarga. The truck had six occupants, two of which were in the bed of the pickup. They were ejected from the truck. All six in the pickup were taken to Carle Hospital in Urbana with non-life threatening injuries.
