Three vehicles collided on Interstate 65 North this (Thursday) morning leaving one person dead.
The wreck happened around 1 a.m. about two miles north of State Road 28.
State police say a Freightliner and a pickup truck were partially blocking the right lane. One was pulling a lighted sign to direct traffic into the left lane as two construction workers picked up traffic cones. According to police, a semi failed to slow down or follow traffic signs before sideswiping both construction trucks.
The semi continued north on the interstate before going off the roadway and rolling onto its side.
The Clinton County coroner pronounced the semi driver dead at the scene. No one else was injured in the crash.
State police say the wreck occurred in a construction area that has adequate signage to warn drivers to slow down.
