Mayor Chasity Wells-Armstrong will focus on three pillars of her agenda for a better Kankakee.

The mayor hosted a gathering (Thursday) to introduce a new initiative for her administration. She calls it “Kankakee Forward.” She wants to continue pushing forward since her election, bringing the community together with a focus on improved government, strengthening public safety and economic development.

The economic development, she said, is with emphasis on the use of the river-front. A Community Meeting welcomed visitors at the Kankakee Public Library.

Wells-Armstrong says the “Kankakee Forward” initiative is about a better Kankakee for everyone and all groups.
