Illinois State Police (ISP) District 21 is reporting the arrest of Brian Windon, 22, of Carbondale for Possession of a Stolen Vehicle; Bryan Benner, 28, of Fowler, IN for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol; Demere Turner, 39, of Kankakee for Criminal Damage to Property;

An Illinois State Trooper was on patrol in Iroquois County Saturday morning, observing a vehicle make an illegal U-Turn in Chebanse. Radio traffic from District 21 Telecommunications informed the trooper that the vehicle was reported stolen out of Chicago. The driver, Brian Windon was arrested for Possession of a Stolen Vehicle and Forgery. Windon was also issued citations for no valid driver’s license, expired registration, no insurance, improper turn, and failure to signal.

Sunday,,, a State Trooper responded to a call of a possible DUI on US Route 45/52 in Iroquois County. Bryan Benner showed signs of alcohol impairment. Benner was arrested and charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol.

More info on that road rage incident reported on I-57 south of Kankakee Sunday. A driver was verbally threatening other motorists and waving an object, thought to be a firearm, out the window. The suspect vehicle was located on Court Street in Kankakee by the Kankakee City Police Department. A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed NO firearm. The driver, Demere Turner was charged with Criminal Damage to Property, Reckless Conduct, and Assault.
