— Officials in Vermilion County are investigating a fatal fire that occurred early Monday morning west of Danville.

County Coroner Jane McFadden is investigating. An autopsy is to be completed today.

Kickapoo firefighters were called to a fire in Batestown around 5:30 am. They arrived to find a mobile home engulfed.

The Illinois State Fire Marshal's office is on the scene. Mutual aide came from Oakwood, Fithian-Muncie-Collison, Catlin, Sidell, Westville, Bismark and Georgetown.
