Champaign County officials have identified a man who died when his van slammed into the rear of a semi on I-74 Thursday night. 77-year-old Ronald Juergens was pronounced dead at the scene.

Illinois State Police reported the crash happened in the eastbound lanes of I-74 near St. Joseph. The truck driver was treated at an area hospital.
