Four children die in Flora, IN house fire

The Indiana State Fire Marshal’s office confirms four children died in an early morning house fire today (Mon) in Flora.

Emergency responders said four children and their mother were inside the home. The children ranged in age from 4 to 13. There was no word on the woman’s condition yet. Authorities said she was airlifted to an Indianapolis hospital.

Firemen answered the call about 3:30 am.

Two law enforcement officers were also injured.

Carroll County Sheriff deputy Drew Yoder was flown by helicopter to a hospital burn unit in Fort Wayne. He had received burns to his hands and forehead, as well as severe smoke inhalation.

Flora police officer Josh Disinger was also hurt. He’s in stable condition at IU Health Arnett hospital in Lafayette.
