Manteno men arrested for fatal snowmobile crash

A fatal snowmobile crash in Kankakee last December has led to indictments against two men.

Kankakee County Sheriff’s Police arrested both men Thursday after the grand jury returned indictments against 39-year-old Brian Johnson and 41-year-old Louis Morez. Both men are from Manteno.

The charges are operating a snowmobile under the influence – resulting in death. They were allegedly under the influence of alcohol and cocaine.

Killed in the accident was 24-year-old Kristen Agrue. She was a passenger riding on Johnson’s snowmobile and was thrown from the vehicle when it jumped a culvert. The victim was then hit by the trailing snowmobile driven by Morez.
