After a lot of talk about red ink, it’s all black again in Iroquois County as a new fiscal year approaches. The County Board has approved its new budget which begins December 1st and Board Chairman John Shure says everyone appears pleased with the numbers.

Shure credits Finance Director Anita Speckman for working with department heads to keep the numbers in order.

"It's my understanding Iroquois County may be the only county in the state with a balanced budget. If so, we intend to keep it that way," Shure said.
