Livingston County lost one of its longest serving public officials in its history Friday morning. Former Circuit Clerk Judy Cremer passed away at the age of 76.

Often called a pillar in the community, co-workers and others say Judy Cremer was first a friend to many, and an overall role model for several people throughout the county.

Cremer first took office as the Livingston County Circuit Clerk in 1980, after working for 16 years in the state's attorney's office. When she left office in 2016, she had dedicated more than 50 years of her life in some form of public service.
