Senator Barickman appointed to leadership role in Senate

State Sen. Jason Backman has been appointed Assistant Republican Leader for the 100th General Assembly. The appointment was made by Senate Minority Leader Christine Rodogno.

Barickman finished the previous General Assembly as Minority Whip.

Barickman said in a press release he’s thankful for the opportunity and he’s excited to continue working “to forge common-sense solutions to move our state forward.”

Radogno said “Barickman’s work on education funding, along with his knowledge of issues and his dedication to the people of this state, have made him a great asset to our caucus.”

Barickman, whose a voice for Iroquois County, said “our biggest task moving forward is to continue to work on the recent budget compromise.”
