Riverside Medical Center has been named one of America's Best Hospitals for Heart Care by the Women's Choice Award®, a nationally recognized organization dedicated to female patient satisfaction and clinical excellence.
According to the American Heart Association, heart disease is the number one killer of American women. Heart disease causes 1 in 3 deaths each year, taking the life of one woman every minute. Even more, heart disease is commonly thought of as a "man's disease," but it affects more women than men and is more deadly than all forms of cancer combined.
"We want to ensure that every woman has the education, tools and resources to keep her heart healthy, even before heart disease is diagnosed," said Dr. Nha Huynh, cardiologist at Riverside Heart & Vascular Institute. "That's why we stress the importance of early detection, which is available through a variety of screenings."
