The Vermilion County Republican Central Committee (Saturday) selected the new County Treasurer, who will serve as successor to retiring Treasurer Sue Stine.

Darren Duncan, currently a member of the Vermilion County Board from District 1, will fill the remaining term of Sue Stine.

Duncan lives in Rossville, where he farms. He’s originally from Potomac. Duncan and his wife Natalie have four children. He is scheduled to begin his job of County Treasurer on April 3rd.

Stine announced in January that she planned to retire on March 31st.

The Vermilion County GOP requested resumes and letters of intent from those interested. Party Chairman Bill Wright says all candidates who submitted information were interviewed before Duncan was selected.
