Lindsey Jensen is the Teacher of the Year in Illinois. The 10-year veteran instructor at Dwight was named this year’s winner Saturday at the Illinois State Board of Education annual Dinner-Banquet in Normal. Lindsey Jensen was one of 10 finalists for the honor.

Lindsey is a high school English and Literature teacher. Illinois State Education Superintendent Tony Smith said Jensen “exemplifies teacher leadership.”
She emerged from a group of 234 teachers who were nominated for the award. The list was narrowed to ten last month.
Originally a teacher’s aide, she joined the staff at Dwight in 2008 and has been there since.
