Relay for Life 'Thank You's" ...

Iroquois County cancer relayers are on their way to reaching toward a $95,000 goal.  Following Friday's 2018 Relay for Life event at Watseka High School, officials reportged $86, 700 had been raised so far.  Donations are accepted thru the summer months.

Event Coordinator Tiffany Neukomm extended a big Than You to Riverside Medical Center for its support.  Riverside provided for the Survivors Dinner held prior to the relay kick-off at Blake Field Friday evening.  Neukomm said "everyone deserves thanks for the set-up and support again."

Carol and Jim Dexter were recognized for their support since the inception of the relay effort.  The Dexters were recently honored by the Watseka Area Chamber of Commerce for a Lifetime Achievement award.

Neukomm reported 400 + Luminarias were lit to remember loved ones in the ongoing battle against cancer.  This year's relay carried a Disnet theme.

Riverside Medical Center and Nucor Steel were also major sponsors in the Kankakee County Relay for Life event Saturday at Bishop McNamara Catholic High School.
